Attendees of the KBB Careers Day:

Together, we are committed to closing the KBB skills gap by empowering individuals to retrain and upskill through targeted training and apprenticeship opportunities.

Simon Acres is an Apprenticeship Ambassador

At Simon Acres, we are dedicated to fighting the skills gap. To this end, we have prepared a series of events dedicated to the topic of Apprenticeship, but we are also trying to provide answers to both people who would like to connect their future with the KBB industry and join the group of respected apprentices, as well as companies that are struggling with the difficulties of bureaucracy to get through the procedures of obtaining funds to pay for the training of their apprentices.

What we have learned so far:

New project

The Journeyof an Apprentice

On October 17, 2024, we embarked on an inspiring new journey

Project participants:

Simon Acres and Kordian Pach had the privilege of visiting Adroit Services | Amazing Bathrooms to kick off an 18-month collaboration showcasing the real-life journey of their outstanding apprentices.

Our mission is to demystify the apprenticeship process—from recruitment and training to demonstrating how apprenticeships can fuel business growth. By sharing the apprentice’s journey and highlighting the dedication of employers and suppliers, we aim to inspire more KBB industry and Merchant companies to embrace apprenticeships.

A heartfelt thank you to Peter Butt and his team for their unwavering commitment to nurturing talent. Alongside our communications, we are producing an insightful film  for the South East Young Apprentice Ambassador Network, supporting additional hires, particularly among SMEs.

We’re proud to spotlight the real impact apprentices can have when given the right support!

If you’re considering hiring an apprentice, learn from those who’ve successfully done it, and don’t hesitate to ask questions as we document this journey.
