GOODEY AND HOWELL TAKES DELIVERY OF FIRST RESOLUTION CHAIR FROM YOUNG FURNITURE DESIGNER
An innovative chair designed by young furniture designer, Joseph Boobier, mentored by the Simon Acres Group has been delivered to kitchen and bathroom retailer Goodey and Howell in Wellingborough.
The Resolution Chair, made to seat two people, will be used as a showroom display item, with customers being encouraged to use it as part of the decision-making process when in the showroom. Joseph has been working with SAGL to bring his design to market with the support of the Furniture Makers’ Company (FMC).
The design inspiration behind the design is the importance of compromise in resolving conflict, based on his observations of some of the many political conflicts currently at play in the world today.
Designer Johnny Grey, visiting professor of design and kitchen culture at Bucks New University and an active supporter of young designers says, “Using this chair is a truly innovative sitting experience. It is not just a chair for the body but the mind too; embracing companionship, eye contact and elegant craftsmanship. A gift for any kitchen or home space where sociability is desired.”
